Hello, and welcome to SI. SI is a service for all students, Whether you are wrestling with a complex topic or seeking examples to give your grades an edge.

Mechanical of material is a foundational course that depending on your major will be used multiple instances in your advanced courses. It is important to not only do well in this class but truly understand the core concepts being taught. SI will go above and beyond your lecture where we will discuss the big concepts, identify common mistakes, and practice unique problems to help you prepare for the exams.

SI is a free and voluntary program where students can come participate to help themselves succeed in the course. Each session will be 50 minutes long and will include reviewing what was covered in the previous lecture with engaging activities to reinforce key concepts. SI is an opportunity for you to work with your classmates to analyze and apply what you learned in lecture.

Week 11 Session 3

In today's session we will be walking through a method to solve indeterminate beam deflection problems.

I will be using the Engineering Equation Solver (EES) If you wish to access this software or any files on you school drive you will need to install and run Iowa state's VDI a link to the instruction will be on this page.

It is an alternative to Wolfram, Symbolab, and Matlab. It like all software had its advantages and disadvantages. It is very useful in soling large systems of equations
