About SI for this Course
Supplemental Instruction is provided online via WebEx during the period of online classes. Join my SI sessions by using this link: https://iastate.webex.com/meet/bewhite
Due to potential unforeseen obstacles SI Leaders may encounter as they move to online delivery, some sessions may be modified, cancelled, or suspended until in-person sessions can resume on campus.
Supplemental Instruction is a free, optional-attendance program that accompanies traditionally difficult courses at ISU. SI allows students to gain a better understanding of the material by working among themselves and with their peers. Each week, I will be holding 3 50-minute sessions about the material currently being discussed in lecture.
My sessions will typically involve small and large group activities and I will be posting a worksheet to go along with each lecture and session. While we will not always be using the worksheets in session, I still think they are wonderful resources and would highly recommend looking at them before session if possible. I will not be posting keys for these worksheets, but you should be able to find all of the answers from the lecture notes. If you are stumped on a question, feel free to email me or find me after class and I can help you through it. I'd also be happy to check your answers if you would like to email them to me.
If you do happen to have any questions about the worksheets or the course content, feel free to find me before or after class! You can also contact me directly using the "Contact Your SI Leader" tab on this page. I am extremely excited to be your SI leader this semester and I hope to see many of you in my sessions!
Hello everyone, hope you all had a relaxing break. As you all hopefully know by now, I will holding online sessions for the rest of the semester. These sessions will be at regular time and you can access the meeting room through the link on the SI web page. I will be in the room starting 10 minutes before the session is set to start. Hope to see you all there!
Hi everyone! This isn't necessarily relevant to the class, but it is something I want to incorporate into my session this month! March Mammal Madness is run through twitter and is a series of theoretical showdowns between two species! Take a look at the bracket, look up each species, and predict how you think it's going to turn out! As we go through the month I'm planning on giving an update at each session, maybe whoever has the most accurate bracket will win some prize! You can find the bracket and more information below:
